Sharing a list
Inviting someone
Section titled “Inviting someone”Share the list with another Marvelist user and they get access to it. They see it in their own sidebar alongside their own lists.
Join links
Section titled “Join links”A list can have a shareable join link. Anyone with a Marvelist account who opens it can join the list, which is easier than inviting people one at a time.
Read-only access
Section titled “Read-only access”Members can be made read-only. They see the list and everything on it but cannot change anything.
This is the right setting for sharing a plan with people who need to know rather than to help. It keeps a shared itinerary or schedule from drifting because someone tidied it.
Managing members
Section titled “Managing members”Manage Access on the list menu shows who has access and lets you change or remove it. Removing someone takes the list out of their sidebar.
The sharing controls, and which to use
Section titled “The sharing controls, and which to use”| Menu item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Share | Share the list with a specific person |
| Manage Access | See and change who currently has access |
| Sharing Link | Create or revoke the join link |
| Share access link | Send that link on |
| Copy Link | Copy it to the clipboard |
Prefer Share for people you know. A join link is for the case where you do not want to add fifteen people by hand, and it stays live until you revoke it, so revoke it once everyone is in.
Clearing up everything at once
Section titled “Clearing up everything at once”If you have shared a lot over the years and lost track, Settings → Privacy has Invalidate All List Sharing Links and Revoke Access to All Shared Lists. Both apply across every list you own. See Security.
What members can see
Section titled “What members can see”Everything on the list: tasks, detail, subtasks, tags, comments and attachments. There is no per-task privacy within a shared list, so anything you would not want a member to read belongs on a different list.
Locking and Vault protection are about your own devices and storage rather than about hiding content from members. See Locked lists.
