Your first list
Create a list
Section titled “Create a list”Create a new list and give it a name. You can pick an icon and a colour, which is worth doing once you have more than a handful: colour is how you tell lists apart at a glance in the sidebar and in widgets.
Choose whether it is a task list or a notes list. Task lists hold tickable items; notes lists hold rich text. See Notes.
Add some tasks
Section titled “Add some tasks”Add a few. A task only needs a title to exist, and everything else is optional.
Try these on one of them:
- Mark it important. It appears in your Important smart list.
- Give it a due date. It appears in Today or Scheduled depending on when.
- Add a subtask or two. The task shows progress as you tick them off.
See Tasks for everything a task can hold.
Look at your smart lists
Section titled “Look at your smart lists”Open Today. The task you dated appears there alongside anything else due, from every list you have.
That is the shape of using Marvelist day to day: put things in whichever list they belong to, then work from the smart lists rather than opening each list in turn. See Smart lists.
Where to go next
Section titled “Where to go next”- Shopping? Turn a list into a grocery list.
- Sharing with someone? See Sharing a list.
- Hosting something? See Events.
- Want it on your home screen? See Widgets.
