List groups

Contributors

A group is a named folder on the Lists screen holding as many lists as you like. Groups have their own icon and colour, and the lists inside them carry a matching accent rail, so you can see at a glance which lists belong together.

Groups start collapsed, which is the point: a screen of five folders is navigable where a screen of twenty lists is not.

Create a group from the Lists screen, then drag lists into it. Rename or delete a group at any time from the menu beside it.

Lists that are not in a group appear under Ungrouped at the bottom. There is no obligation to file everything; a list you open several times a day is often better left where you can reach it without expanding anything.

Deleting a group does not delete the lists inside it. They return to Ungrouped.

Groups sync across all your devices and work offline. Changes made without a connection are queued and applied when you are back.

Fewer than you think. Groups are worth adding when the Lists screen has become something you scroll rather than scan, and the useful number is usually four or five: enough to separate work from home from a project, few enough that you never wonder which folder something went in.

If you find yourself opening three folders to find one list, the grouping is wrong rather than incomplete.
