Tophhie Social

Tophhie Social is a UK-hosted Personal Data Server (PDS) for the AT Protocol, the network Bluesky runs on. It holds your account and your data, and connects you to everyone else on the network.

Signing up gives you a handle like alice.tophhie.social that works in Bluesky and in any other AT Protocol app. You are not joining a separate walled-off service. You get an account on the same network, hosted here instead of by Bluesky.

Your data stays yours

Your identity is portable. Your account is identified by a DID rather than by a hostname, so if you want to move to another PDS later, including back to Bluesky, you take your identity, your posts and your followers with you. See Leaving or moving on.

You can also delete it. Deactivating an account starts a window of roughly 14 days, after which the repository is deleted from the server automatically.

Both of these are properties of the AT Protocol rather than favours granted by this server, which is most of the reason for running on it.
